Mat Pilates
Pilates is a mind, body, and spirit practice. This is a form of a no impact exercise that supports and enhances overall fitness, as well as daily activities by improving core strength, flexibility, coordination and balance in the body along with strength and flexibility in the spine. Body weight is used for resistance in various positions. The moves require precision and control. Pilates rings, adjustment straps, bands, balls and foam rollers may be used. The exercises used can build in difficulty but every exercise can be modified to decrease or increase the level of challenge. The benefits are huge – improved posture, better coordination and balance, increased lung capacity, improved concentration and focus, increased body awareness, stress management, and injury prevention. Build a strong, balanced body and increase your flexibility. Continued practice brings about improvements in breathing, focus, stress management, and body awareness. You will leave with an overall sense of well-being. All levels welcome.
